This week I would like to pay tribute to those who teach. Our teachers, our Pastor and all those who are in Ministry to share the Christian life with our students here at Grace Primary. To teach children is a privilege, to teach children about God’s love for his creation is an honour that brings great blessing and requires from the teacher pure motives, free of selfish ambition revealing a heart that longs to see God’s kingdom come. ...Read More
Preps
Thank you to our amazing Prep students and teachers for your wonderful contribution to both Chapels and the ‘Together with’ Service on Sunday. It was lovely to see so many families sharing in worship together. It never ceases to amaze me how God speaks to us through the witness of children. Thanks for sharing in this time with our community. ...Read More
I Love Teaching
I have had the blessing this week of spending some time doing my favourite thing, Teaching! There is nothing that matches the joy of seeing a ‘light bulb’ come on in a child’s mind or the excitement they have when they achieve something that has been a hard slog. The classroom is a place of energy, challenge, contemplation, enthusiasm and celebration. ...Read More
Welcome Back
Fourth term is already upon us! I hope you and your children had the opportunity for some family time over the holiday break and that they are energised and excited for this term. We are conscious that this is the final term for our Year 6 students before they head off to Middle School and we pray that they will take every opportunity to enjoy the community they have become very much a part of. ...Read More
Appreciation
In Chapel last week we considered our uniqueness and the part God played in forming us and knowing us even before we were born. We marvelled at the complexity of the human body, at the similarities and also the differences between individuals and how creative our God must be to be able to craft such individuality. We recognised ourselves as special in Gods eyes and acknowledged that God sees everyone as a special and unique work of art. When we think about our neighbour, our friends and family in this light we recognise that if God has the capacity to love and accept our uniqueness, then surely we have to go the extra mile to care about or appreciate others too. ...Read More
What we learn from our Children
Over the years I have shared in many Chapels run by children and young adults. I often smile as I watch as the old adage ‘never work with children or animals’ be realised several times throughout a service, as questions to the children are met with honest and direct responses that send laughter rippling across the church. I recall one service I attended where 5 year olds allowed the grownups to step back and think about their relationship with God. When it came time to lead the congregation through the message it was of course a message that was Honest and Direct. ...Read More

Resilience
Being a parent has to be both one of the most rewarding and challenging roles we can ever hope to play in our life time. As parents of two amazing young women (yes I am biased), my husband and I can safely say we have navigated many highs and lows throughout the twenty years of having our girls as gifts in our lives. It seemed that just when we had encountered and conquered one concern another would appear and on reflection it is truly only the extra strong thread of God’s love in our lives that helped us move through those times.
In my 25 years of dealing with teenagers, people will often ask how you navigate the messiness of that stage of young people’s lives. My answer to them is more of a question to begin with;
What do you want most for your child? ...Read More
Mr McGrath
It is with great sadness this week that we acknowledge that Mr McGrath will not be returning to Grace Primary School due to health concerns. This has been a very difficult decision for Mr McGrath to make, because he loves Grace Primary and cares deeply about our school and its future. I trust as a community you will keep Mr and Mrs McGrath in your prayers as God leads them on a new adventure. ...Read More
