BOOK WEEK - AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR VISITS

31-Aug-2016

As part of last week's Book Week celebrations at Grace Primary, students enjoyed visits from authors and illustrators of children's books.

Year 5 & 6 students enjoyed a workshop with illustrator Tony Flowers, while our Preps, Year 1 & Year 2 students enjoyed a fun and lively catch up with Nadia Sunde, children's author and entertainer.

Today our Year 3 & 4 students have had fun learning how to write stories with children's author Pat Flynn.

Here's some comments from our Year 6 students, about the workshop they enjoyed with illustrator Tony Flowers...

"I really enjoyed when he was drawing Lenny because he was fast and used lots of the techniques of cartoon drawing." - Hugh
"I now know that an illustrator goes through many stages to have a final picture completed." - Gabrielle
"The best part was that we all contributed to the picture." - Tara
"I learnt that to get the best picture or outcome you have to experiment." - Jamie

Thank you to our Library team for making these special visits happen.
